Explore locationEmbark on a transformative journey as a Junior Software Developer. At Barclays, our vision is clear – to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. You will be building new capabilities in the equity risk management applications and generating intra-day and end of day risk for multiple desks. The work of the incoming junior developer includes developing business essential risk calculation, improving risk and valuation workflows, and automating and enhancing risk reporting. The junior developer will also be involved in building next generation of equity derivatives risk platform and decommissioning legacy systems.
To be successful as a Junior Software Developer, you should have:
Experience developing applications in core Java (8 or 8+)
Knowledge of multi-threading development and familiar with common Java frameworks, like Spring framework
Deep knowledge of rational database, Oracle, or SQL server for instance
Knowledge and experiences with NoSQL databases, middleware, containers, distributed cache, and other modern technologies
Other highly valued skills include:
Fast learner in getting involved into new business, new technology and new ideas quickly and iterate through them with growing capacity
Practical experience with agile development and comfortable with front-office pace
Any knowledge of derivatives products especially complex products from any asset class would be highly valuable
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role is located in New York, NY office.
Minimum Salary: $120,000
Maximum Salary: $175,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
