Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Introduction:

•    Work closely with Test Engineering Lead to execute End-to-End Test Automation including Non-Functional aspects in close co-ordination with the stakeholders across Business/Product, Technology and Operations to identify, scope, quantify, plan and control all Automation Test activities 
•    Responsible for defining Test automation Strategy. Apply the right processes, tools, methods and skills to deliver the Test Automation aspect of a project from business case through to closure.
•    Develop test Automation approach and execution 
•    Identify the test cases for Test Automation as part of In-Sprint Automation and automate those within the sprint.
•    Accountable for Automation of key E2E business scenarios and for delivering scripts according to project timelines in line with the Automation Teams quality standards.

What will you be doing?

•    Accountable for Automation of key E2E business scenarios and for delivering scripts according to project timelines in line with the Automation Teams quality standards.
•    Execution of the existing ST and SIT regression packs and consolidated feedback to the Test Engineering lead on a regular basis.
•    Taking responsibility for successful Test Automation delivery in line with the relevant Policies and Standards by keeping a focus on outcomes; defining, monitoring and regularly reviewing the overall Test Automation Schedule; ensuring benefits and outcomes are captured and validated throughout the Test Lifecycle. 
•    Keep the test automation pack stable and reduce the false failures 
•    Own Test data approach and liaise with necessary teams to ensure delivery within time
•    Help define processes and follow them within area of remit
•    Own the test estimates and the IA of the change.
•    Implement and maintain robust governance of Test scope, coverage and results using automation, to meet audit and external assurance requirements
•    Being responsible for Test governance and oversight –  provide the Automation framework for implementation, working with the Test Lead and other workstream leads to establish/support a governance forum that is fit for purpose and facilitate the continuous review and approval of key delivery outcomes  
•    Providing and regularly reviewing an honest, transparent assessment of the project status and RAID (risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies) of the initiative, escalating via appropriate governance 
•    Acting in partnership with the Test Engineering Lead and Engineering Lead (where relevant), using their experience and insight to help engage senior leaders, maintain a focus on delivering outcomes, remove blockers and resolve risks and issues and deploy appropriate governance and oversight of Test delivery (including the Project and/or Programme Forum) 
•    Apply processes, methods, knowledge, skills and experience to manage risk and ensure project outcomes are delivered in line with expectations.
•    Creating an environment of effective delivery by empowering the Test delivery team, leveraging their knowledge and expertise, learning lessons from past delivery, and by allocating work across the team in a way that makes the most of their skills while maintaining a focus on outcomes. 
•    Run/attend weekly working group and weekly delivery against plan meetings
•    Maintain detailed Test plan for Automation, managing updates and delivery forum management

o    Strong Java and Selenium scripting skill, experience in Test cases writing in Cucumber / Gherkin
o    Strong Knowledge of SQL Queries
o    Strong Knowledge on creating stubs to simulate responses
o    Good Knowledge on GIT, Maven, Jenkins
o    Good knowledge of DevOps

Skills that will help you in the role:

o    Awareness with various messaging formats (XML, SWIFT, Scheme)
o    Knowledge of Software Engineering lifecycle, Core processes/techniques using different approaches, Documentation skills and Governance practices
o    Knowledge of Agile estimation techniques approaches and processes.
