Embark on a transformative journey as AVP - Avaloq Business Analyst, where you’ll join our Pune-based team supporting Barclays’ International Private Bank and Wealth Management operations across the UK, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the latest Avaloq core banking platform and its satellite interfaces, helping Barclays Wealth expand into new markets. Your key responsibilities will include delivering quality business solutions across multiple software development projects, bridging business and technology teams to analyze requirements and implement change, documenting and validating requirements to ensure they align with business needs, coordinating with project managers, designers, and development teams to drive solutions, and sharing best practices to mentor colleagues – all while ensuring deliverables meet Barclays’ standards for quality and compliance. 

To be successful as an AVP - Avaloq Business Analyst, you should have experience with: 

  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in business analysis within Wealth Management and/or Investment Banking, demonstrating deep domain knowledge of financial products and processes. 

  • Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document business requirements (including functional and non-functional specifications), and to manage the end-to-end stakeholder sign-off process. 

  • Experience collaborating with both business and technology teams to implement change, ensuring solutions align with business requirements and strategic objectives. 

  • Strong expertise in core banking systems, with hands-on experience in Avaloq or comparable platforms (e.g., Finacle, T24). 

  • A good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and familiarity with modern project tools (such as JIRA and Confluence). 

  • Good organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. 

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships across a wide stakeholder base. 

  • A proactive and professional approach to problem solving and decision making. 

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field).

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
  • Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
