Join us as a Client Engagement & Regulatory Governance Manager at Barclays where you will support the delivery and governance of a global portfolio of client and regulatory engagement activities. You will play a key role in ensuring that regulatory submissions and client assurances are delivered in a controlled, consistent, and audit-ready manner, while translating complex cyber security inputs into clear, regulator- and client-appropriate outputs.

You will work across global teams to drive governance excellence, enhance quality assurance, and strengthen readiness for external scrutiny, ensuring alignment with Barclays’ risk and control frameworks.

To be successful as a Client Engagement & Regulatory Governance Manager, you should have experience with:

  • Managing a large and complex portfolio of regulatory engagements and client assurance activities across regions and stakeholders
  • Operating within defined quality assurance and approval frameworks to deliver consistent, accurate, evidence-based, and audit-ready outputs
  • Strong working knowledge of cyber security, with the ability to translate complex technical content into clear, non-technical, client- and regulator-appropriate outputs
  • Using collaboration and reporting platforms such as SharePoint and MI dashboards to generate insights, support decision-making, and highlight emerging risks
  • Supporting audit activities and remediation tracking to ensure timely closure of findings
  • Identifying, escalating, and managing risks associated with regulatory and client engagement delivery
  • Operating effectively in a global environment, managing multiple priorities and timelines simultaneously

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience within financial services or a similarly regulated industry
  • Familiarity with regulatory, operational, and enterprise risk frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across cyber, technology, legal, compliance, and senior leadership teams
  • Ability to drive governance consistency across global teams and engagement cycles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience engaging with senior executives and regulators

Purpose of the role

To provide a primary liaison service between the business, technology, and security functions. In order to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information, and support the mitigation of security risk. 

Accountabilities

  • Collaboration with stakeholders to understand their security requirements in business processes and IT projects, to enhance overall risk management.
  • Execution of risk assessments to identify and prioritise potential cybersecurity threats that could impact the banks operations and data and guide the implementation of mitigation strategies and communicate findings to relevant findings to relevant senior stakeholders.
  • Collaboration with business units to develop and implement security policies and procedures for the banks operations aligned to the risk management framework.
  • Management of the implementation, testing and monitoring of security controls across the banks IT systems to ensure the effectiveness of controls and mitigation of risk.
  • Execution of training content and sessions to educate employees, enhance cybersecurity awareness and provide guidance on safe online practices.
  • Management of complex cybersecurity incidents by collaborating with IT teams and response experts to effectively resolve cases through analysis, expertise support and project supervision.
  • Identification of emerging cybersecurity trends, threats, and new technologies to address potential risks by advocating the adoption of new security solutions.
