Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

Responsible for driving all technical aspects of delivery, setting and improving technical direction and standards for development and design across the platforms that support our products and services for Barclays UK customers. 
This role will report directly to the Global Head of Digital, Everyday Money Management (EMM) and is responsible for designing and building Digital platforms for EMM.

What will you be doing?

•    Drive Cloud-first strategy for the Digital channels and build the new digital platforms for Everyday Money Management systems
•    Lead the design and build of new digital platforms across all EMM Digital channels – mobile, web and colleague channels
•    Contribute to BUK Digital strategy and supporting the delivery of digital platforms
•    Create enhanced forward compatible technical capability in the teams in-line with technology and business strategies, across geographies
•    Drive platform innovation and roadmaps to modernise and future proof the technology estates, and uplift resiliency, stability, security and simplification
•    Drive the use of consistent components, tools, technologies and frameworks within the platforms
•    Enable agile delivery through continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), test automation at all levels
•    Champion our workforce strategy as we look to continue to recruit world class engineering capability across our strategic campus locations (across the UK and India).
•    Leverage group-wide capabilities, technologies, patterns and practices. Creating capacity for the business by delivering with maximum efficiency.

What we’re looking for:

•    Must have Computer Science Degree with hands-on experience in building cloud native solutions
•    Strong technical working experience in software engineering and design roles
•    Significant software development experience, with multiple programming languages
•    Significant and demonstrable experience of leading detailed design and implementation of scalable, robust and performant solutions using a number of technologies 
•    Experience of leading and managing technical teams (solution architects, solution designers, etc.)
•    Significant experience integrating disparate systems and exploiting effective APIs and most appropriate technologies
•    Strong experience of Agile and DevOps principles, tools and practices 
•    Experience with automation and cloud technologies
•    Strong analytical skills and proven ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex analytical outcomes, linkages and messages to both technical and non-technical audiences 
•    Strong experience of wide range of application development technologies including APIs, microservices, containerisation, elastic, scalable and distributed architecture


Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Degree in computer science or a similar field.
•    At least 5 years of experience in the field of cloud computing.
•    Experience with CI/CD systems.
•    Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
•    Good communication and collaboration skills.
•    Client management skills.
•    Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications preferred.
•    Experience with SysOps
•    Experience in Financial Industry
