What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Trade Floor Support Analyst in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

  • Analyze business and data processing needs to develop and implement software solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.

  • Apply computer science, engineering and mathematical methods.

  • Provide level two software engineering support for Fixed Income Finance trading applications.

  • Drive major incident management calls and processes; direct technical resources in the investigation and resolution of high impacting technology issues with software applications.

  • Confer with Business, Development, Global Infrastructure and Vendors to facilitate the successful delivery of change to the production environment; minimize unplanned impact to the business day-to-day operating procedures.

  • Represent Technology in front of business and take ownership of issue escalations through to resolution or escalation.

  • Follow Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards of ident management, change management and problem management.

  • Represent Technology in responding to traders, salespeople, client service groups or operations team for any issues or queries around functionality, usage and service quality.

  • Liaise with regional business leadership on production services delivery.

  • Support business users on general IT issues by coordinating with other regional teams, and by facilitating engagement through partnership with other Technology Business Integration Managers.

  • Monitor production systems, escalation, and resolve software application issues as needed.

  • Oversee complex incident and problem management cases through to resolution.

  • May telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $171,000 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $176,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To effectively monitor and maintain the bank’s critical technology infrastructure and resolve more complex technical issues, whilst minimising disruption to operations. 

Accountabilities

  • Provision of technical support for the service management function to resolve more complex issues for a specific client of group of clients. Develop the support model and service offering to improve the service to customers and stakeholders.
  • Execution of preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software and utilisation of monitoring tools/metrics to identify, prevent and address potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintenance of a knowledge base containing detailed documentation of resolved cases for future reference, self-service opportunities and knowledge sharing.
  • Analysis of system logs, error messages and user reports to identify the root causes of hardware, software and network issues, and providing a resolution to these issues by fixing or replacing faulty hardware components, reinstalling software, or applying configuration changes.
  • Automation, monitoring enhancements, capacity management, resiliency, business continuity management, front office specific support and stakeholder management.
  • Identification and remediation or raising, through appropriate process, of potential service impacting risks and issues.
  • Proactively assess support activities implementing automations where appropriate to maintain stability and drive efficiency. Actively tune monitoring tools, thresholds, and alerting to ensure issues are known when they occur.
