Senior Web Developer

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Senior Web Developer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

1. Engage with system users and business analysts to identify system enhancements and/or new applications to meet business needs.
2. Work with UI developers, UX designers and Business Analysts to transform functional requirements and design prototypes into responsive websites.
3. Ensure code written meets the predefined company and department standards; ensure functionality meets the agreed specifications and standards.
4. Liaise with the Leads to ensure all new components fit within the guiding principles
5. Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
6. Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
7. Debug and resolve the software application related issues; identify and analyze the root cause of the problem.
8. Manage 3 Junior Web Developers to write generic and enterprise grade components.
9. May telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $179,982 per year
Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $197,980 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
