Full Stack Developer

Join us as a Full Stack Developer, at Barclays where you will spearhead the evolution of our Commercial Issuing domain products, driving innovation and operational excellence using GenAI. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure application, ensuring seamless delivery of our Issuing products .

To be successful as a Full Stack Developer, you should have experience with:

• Proficiency in developing frontend and backend applications as Full stack developer.

• Proficiency in developing middleware / backend API’s/applications using Java &  REST API’s using Spring boot.

• Proficiency in developing Java based applications, API’s using Spring framework including knowledge across Core Spring Framework, Sprint boot, Spring Security, ORM, JPA, Hibernate, Unit testing

• Proficiency in developing Microservices, Schedulers, standalone app using Java/Spring boot

• Good hands-on experience on Kafka , MQ

• Good hands-on experience of Standard coding practices, Error/Exception handling.

• Good working knowledge on Developing UI with React JS/Angular JS

• Good working knowledge on Relational and no-SQL Databases of MS-SQL, Oracle and MongoDB

• Good working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD using Jenkins, GitLab

• Good working knowledge of code quality tools like SonarQube, Veracode, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, GIT, Gitlab etc,

• Good working knowledge of Agile development using Jira, Confluence

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Experience/knowledge on Cloud service , AWS

• Experience/knowledge on managing CI/CD pipeline

• Experience/knowledge on Gen AI tools, Claude , Git Duo

• Nice to have experience on Python

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
