Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

We are looking for an experienced Developer (AVP) to join our team in Pune. The individual will play a key role in development, support, enhancement and build-out of strategic applications in our portfolio. As a part of the role the individual would also be responsible to work with the global team members towards delivery of agile sprints. This position involves hands-on application development in collaboration with our globally distributed development teams.


What will you be doing?

Development (70%)
•    Agile development using Core Java, Spring and SQL
•    Working knowledge of API development using REST / SOAP based services.
•    Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security
•    Delivering solutions within a DevOps environment with a relentless focus on automation of testing and deployment via TeamCity, and similar tools
•    Recognising, selecting and applying appropriate design patterns, frameworks according to business benefit, maintainability and delivery priorities and constrains.
•    Works with the Product owner and Scrum Leads to execute the agile sprints
•    Proactive test driven development and improve the test coverage and automation of unit and integration test along with the extended testing teams.
•    Writes and reviews code in adherence to the well defined acceptance criteria and definition of done.
•    Applies product development & engineering best practices.
•    Participate in design reviews and provides feedback to the team. 
•    Creates and Maintains architecture, framework, technical documentation.
•    Participates in team retrospective / product demo(s) and provides valuable insights and improvements for future development.
•    Owns and runs with release tasks and collaborates with release management and BA/QA teams to make sure production releases are performed with high levels accuracy.
•    Team mentoring ability to guide the team members to achieve quality deliverables using good engineering practices.


Level 3 Support (30 %)
•    Assist L2 Support teams to resolve user queries and production issues
•    Support, monitoring and troubleshooting of both production and non- production environments
•    Promotes support best practices and proactively takes measures to empower support teams to resolve issues with agility. 
•    Proactively identifies and monitors risk. Takes accountability for mitigation by understanding risk drivers, escalation and careful adherence to the bank’s policies, procedures and practices.

What we’re looking for:

•    BE / BTech or equivalent
•    Experience developing medium to large size Java application covering:
    Core Java, Multi-Threading
    Spring, Spring Boot
    Working knowledge of API development using REST / SOAP based services.
    Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security
    Knowledge of HTTP protocol and web services
    General server side development and deployment
    Unix hands on for simple scripts, checking logs/processes etc.
    SQL
•    experience working in an Agile development methodology environment (preferably Scrum/Kanban)
•    Working Experience with GIT, ANT, IntelliJ/Eclipse, JIRA
•    Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
•    Analytical with a structured approach 
•    Clear & concise verbal and written communication skills
•    Team mentoring ability to guide the team members to achieve quality deliverables using good engineering practices.

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Experience writing Oracle SQL code and Java code
•    Experience building systems in trading, banking and/ or financial organization
•    Good working knowledge and experience with complex business systems and object-oriented design patterns and development
