Senior Application Support Analyst

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp.  seeks Senior Application Support Analyst in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

1.    Analyze data processing problems to develop and implement solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, and network concern.
2.    Reduce the adverse impact of incidents and problems that are caused by errors within the IT infrastructure and prevent recurrence of incidents related to these errors.
3.    Work to minimize both the number and severity of incidents and potential problems to the business.
4.    Responsible for end-to-end proactive management of a portfolio of IT services to fulfill business demand and Service Level Agreements.
5.    Engage with managers on upcoming releases and maintain a 30/60/90-day view tracker, collaborate with other technology components, Build the Bank (BTB), component teams, among others to complete RTB training.
6.    Drive governance around both the incident management and problem process, including actions from major problem reviews, high severity incidents, attending Service Review.
7.    Drive Incident management improvements across entire suite of applications along with reviewing and automate operationally expensive tasks including frequent batch failures and reporting requirements.
8.    Investigate solutions to improve system, service quality and increase business value by partaking in continuous IT services improvement process.
9.    Participate in change management activities, including change review/sign-off and production deployment.
10.    Improve Service readiness LCT, RISK Management, BO reviews, and SLA’s.
11.    May telecommute.

Minimum Salary: $152,859 per year

Maximum Salary: $168,145 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To effectively monitor and maintain the bank’s critical technology infrastructure and resolve more complex technical issues, whilst minimising disruption to operations. 

Accountabilities

• Provision of technical support for the service management function to resolve more complex issues for a specific client of group of clients. Develop the support model and service offering to improve the service to customers and stakeholders.
• Execution of preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software and utilisation of monitoring tools/metrics to identify, prevent and address potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
• Maintenance of a knowledge base containing detailed documentation of resolved cases for future reference, self-service opportunities and knowledge sharing.
• Analysis of system logs, error messages and user reports to identify the root causes of hardware, software and network issues, and providing a resolution to these issues by fixing or replacing faulty hardware components, reinstalling software, or applying configuration changes.
• Automation, monitoring enhancements, capacity management, resiliency, business continuity management, front office specific support and stakeholder management.
• Identification and remediation or raising, through appropriate process, of potential service impacting risks and issues.
• Proactively assess support activities implementing automations where appropriate to maintain stability and drive efficiency. Actively tune monitoring tools, thresholds, and alerting to ensure issues are known when they occur.
