Explore locationAs a Product and Proposition Manager - Business Banking Portfolio Management, you will support the Senior Product and Proposition Manager with preparing packs, conducting risk assessments on our products and processes, and with data analysis.
The team’s purpose is to manage and develop the Business Banking lending portfolio across product, sectors and segment, by optimising the appetite for risk designing frameworks, strategies, and decisioning tools that support consistent, high‑quality credit decisions. As part of the First Line of Defence, the team owns and evolves these strategies to support sustainable, responsible growth. You will contribute to activities transitioning from the second line into our first line team, ensuring a smooth handover and embedding new responsibilities effectively.
To be successful as a Product and Proposition Manager - Business Banking Portfolio Management, you should have experience with:
Risk & Controls support; supporting the assessment of risks across products, processes and platforms; helping identify control gaps; and assisting with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of controls in line with the Barclays Controls Framework and regulatory expectations.
Governance, reporting & process discipline: Contributing to control documentation, action tracking and reporting; producing clear, insight‑led MI to support senior stakeholders; and helping maintain effective governance routines, procedures and enterprise frameworks.
Collaboration & analytical capability: Working closely with colleagues across Product, Risk, Operations, Technology and Compliance to improve control effectiveness, applying good data literacy to analyse issues, interpret trends and support evidence‑based improvements.
Some other highly valued additional skills include:
Experience using data and automation tools such as SaaS solutions, SQL or Python to support analysis, reporting efficiency or control enhancements.

This role can be based in either London, Knutsford, or Northampton.
Purpose of the role
To manage and develop existing and new products and/or services; and where applicable, ownership of related customer and colleague journeys, develops the product strategy, drive change through Barclays execution teams, make key decisions in the product lifecycle and own associated outcomes for customers, colleagues and the bank, achieved through appropriate service level agreements, regulatory compliance, risk management and controls.
