Qualifications:

  • Ideally 8-15 years of experience with any of Liquid Finance business lines (prime brokerage, equity derivatives, futures and cleared derivatives, repo or stock loan) or other relevant financial services 
  • Strong understanding of the legal document framework (cash prime brokerage and futures customer agreements, ISDA/CSA and master confirms, GMRA/MRA, etc). Familiarity with risk terms and commercial sensitivities.
  • Able to act as the front office point of contact for clients in the legal negotiation stage in our onboarding process, making key business decisions across the documentation suite
  • Proven track record of execution: experience successfully managing sophisticated clients and internal stakeholders with diverse viewpoints.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team member. 
  • Flexible, driven and solutions-minded. Able to tackle complex and bespoke problems

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with broker-dealer, swap dealer and/or FCM regulation (e.g., customer protection, margin rules and cross-border restrictions), regulatory capital and liquidity rules, secured financing alternatives, etc.
  • Facility with complex documentation - legal degree or experience as a negotiator strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in project/process management: developing new procedures and controls or streamlining and improving existing

Salary / Rate Minimum: $220,000

Salary / Rate Maximum: $300,000

The minimum and maximum salary/ rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

Liquid Finance Platform covers a variety of roles and is central to the delivery of best-in-class products and services, and for the provision of strategic client and risk solutions across the full spectrum of the Prime Financing businesses.

Accountabilities

  •  Working with clients to optimise the Liquid Financing relationship 
  •  Provide best-in-class service and escalation oversight 
  •  Primary contact for Liquid Financing clients in areas such as trading, risk, billing and reporting
  • Provide expertise on industry and regulatory initiatives
  • Subject matter expert for our clients, with a deep understanding of each client’s business mix, operational requirements and product sensitivities

  • To manage a business function, providing significant input to function wide strategic initiatives. Contribute to and influence policy and procedures for the function and plan, manage and consult on multiple complex and critical strategic projects, which may be business wide..

Or for an individual contributor, they lead organisation wide projects and act as deep technical expert and thought leader, identifying new ways of working and collaborating cross functionally. They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions..
  • Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees to influence decisions made outside of own function, offering significant input to function wide strategic initiatives.
  • Manage, coordinate and enable resourcing, budgeting and policy creation for a significant sub-function.
  • Escalates breaches of policies / procedure appropriately.
  • Foster and guide compliance, ensure regulations are observed that relevant processes in place to facilitate adherence.
  • Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays, when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division / Group to achieve the overall business objectives.
  • Maintain broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices within own discipline alongside up-to-date relevant sector / functional knowledge, and insight into external market developments / initiatives.
  • Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/ sensitive situations.
  • Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within own area.
  • Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally.
  • Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/ businesses divisions.
  • Mandated as a spokesperson for the function and business division.
