Hybrid Working 
Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Hadoop/Cloud engineer to join the engineering team. As a member of engineering team you will continue to build, extend, innovate our banking solutions and capabilities. 

To be successful in this role, you must be code author and craftsman, this engineer will be responsible for code delivery in a timely and accurate fashion, and the overall review and guidance of sprint and epic goals.  This lead is expected to produce a high volume of quality code along with his/her team. The engineer should have exposure to Cloud Services (AWS) and also hands on with Big data Technologies like Spark , Hive etc.

What will you be doing?
•    Design & Implement Data integration and Data Warehouse based solutions using Open Source Big data Technologies on Cloud and On-prem. 
•    To develop Data centric frameworks for Data Quality and protection along with consumption patterns for the data sets.
•    Translate business requirements & E2E designs into technical implementations based on system capabilities
•    The role will require to work across a spectrum of requirements across different banking functions.
•    As a senior team member of engineering team, person will continue to build, extend, innovative next generation banking solutions and capabilities.
•    This engineer will be responsible for code delivery in a timely and accurate fashion, and the overall review and guidance of sprint and epic goals.
•    Good team player and mentor, Ownership of defect triage, review code & contribute as required. 
•    Contribution in service improvement - Responsible to prepare designs & support the implementation of problems records / improvements identified by service management.

What we’re looking for:
•    Graduate preferably in Computer Science (or) relevant field
•    Should be proficient in the use of Big data frameworks and standard techniques (On Hadoop and AWS).
•    Strong understanding of Data Structure and Algorithms. Experience in implementing Medium to Big scale data solutions  
•    Experience on AWS Cloud technology for data processing
•    Good understanding of AWS architecture and features as below
o    Computer services like EC2, Lambda, Auto Scaling, VPC, EC2
o    Storage and container services like ECS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS
o    Management & Governance KMS, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail
o    Analytics services as Glue, Athena, Crawler, Lake Formation, Redshift
•    Stakeholder management including persons at working at higher grade


Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Experience in Big data design/development/ performance Tuning/ Investigations/job scheduling tools
•    Knowledge on AWS platform and process flows
•    Ability to drive the projects technically with right first deliveries within schedule and budget 
•    Ability to collaborate across teams to deliver complex systems and components.
•    Ability to define innovative solutions, constantly exploring & challenging product capabilities, liaise with product experts from within the organisation or with vendor partners
