Essential Skills:

  • Having experience with Windows scripting is essential, as it enables the ability to read logs efficiently, suggest solutions, and implement automation where needed.
  • Intellimatch, functional knowledge is important to provide audit support, including hands-on batch management expertise.
  • Unix skills are also required, specifically access to the environment, familiarity with basic VI commands for reading logs, and the ability to write small scripts as necessary.
  • Databases, hands-on knowledge of MS SQL Server and Oracle is vital. This includes understanding triggers, procedures, indexes, and table structures to ensure smooth operations.
  • Additionally, experience with Extraction Transformation Loading (ETL) tools such as Informatica is valuable. candidate should be able to read workflow monitor logs and extract queries from mappings or sessions to complete data loads.
  • Lastly, working knowledge of resiliency or disaster recovery tests will help ensure our systems remain robust and responsive in challenging circumstances.

Some other highly valued skills include:

  • Good to have a working knowledge of Excel for data analysis, as it helps streamline information and draw meaningful insights( talk business language).
  • Being able to write small utilities or code to automate tasks is also a valuable asset, making our processes more efficient and less time-consuming.
  • Additionally, familiarity with controls such as Incident, Problem, and Change Management is very important. This knowledge ensures that we can effectively manage and resolve issues in line with best practices.
  • It’s also helpful to have experience with file transfer mechanisms on both Windows and Unix platforms, as this will support smooth data handling across our systems.

This role will be based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To mitigate the impact of unexpected incidents by identifying, responding and resolving disruptions that threaten the banks IT services, operations and technological infrastructure through effective decision making and successful resource delegation. 

Accountabilities

  • Development, implementation and management of major incident management programmes.
  • Execution of responses to reported incidents from various channels including email, phone and monitoring systems, prioritised by its potential impact to the bank's IT systems, and provide regular status updates to affected stakeholders.
  • Analysis of logs, system data and user reports to identify the root cause of incidents and determine the necessary course of action to resolve or follow escalation protocols to escalate incidents to the relevant team or individual for assistance.
  • Execution of regular tests and simulations to test response procedures in the event of an incident.
  • Documentation and analysis of past incident details, the steps to resolution and lessons learnt from each case to support the identification of recurring issues in the future, implement preventive measures to minimize future occurrence and to build a comprehensive knowledge bases of known issues.
