What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks RFT Application Analyst in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

  • Work with development teams, vendor teams, upstream and downstream systems to ensure smooth on-boarding, releases, migrations, platform stability and delivery of reports and services on time to internal business and external regulators.

  • Work with big data platforms like Hadoop, Spark and ETL tools like Informatica to run queries and create reports with the data from banking systems.

  • Work with scripting technologies like Shell, Perl, Python, Java Script to create automation jobs.

  • Work on L2 support and batch management closely monitoring upstream feed delivery and processing. Drives RTB on-boarding for application migration into Amazon Web Services.

  • Apply and enforce ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) standards for Change Management activities, internal/external audit review processes, and Business Continuity activities.

  • Breakdown complex problems using appropriate design patterns and best practices demonstrating a strong knowledge foundation and a sound approach to problem-solving.

  • Build automated pipelines that integrate and transport software through reliable, secure, and governed channels from conception to production.

  • Build a suite of real-time monitoring and automation software that encompass resilient and self-healing platform operations.

  • Conduct effective triage and remediation of production incidents with accompanying customer service and support for all clients of the platform.

  • May telecommute.

Minimum Salary: $152,859 per year

Maximum Salary: $160,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
