In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining integrations across distributed systems. You’ll operate at the crossroads of backend engineering, API management, and event-driven design to deliver scalable, resilient solutions that power our platform. This position is ideal for someone who is pragmatic and product-focused, with ability to balance speed and accuracy. You recognize that integrations form the backbone of a platform, and you approach data consistency, failure handling, and observability with rigor. You’re also curious about emerging AI tools and continuously seek ways to work more efficiently and effectively, not just harder.
To be successful as a Senior Full Stack Engineer - AVP, you should have:
Ample software engineering experience with Go as a primary language, building and maintaining production-grade systems
Hands-on experience with API gateway platforms (preferably Apigee), including proxy design, traffic management, and security policies
Practical experience with Apache Kafka in production, including consumer groups, offset management, and delivery semantics (at-least-once / exactly-once)
Solid data modeling expertise across RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL—normalization, schema design, query optimization) and NoSQL systems, with understanding of tradeoffs across document, key-value, wide-column, and graph models
Proficiency in modern engineering practices and tools, including REST/gRPC API design, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), and prompt engineering with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini, Claude)
Other highly valued skills include:
Experience with schema-driven development using Protobuf, Avro, or JSON Schema
Familiarity with GraphQL and event streaming patterns beyond Kafka (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kinesis)
Exposure to observability best practices, including OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and structured logging at scale
Experience contributing to internal developer platforms or broader platform engineering programs
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
