At Barclays, our vision is clear –to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions As a Senior Java Developer you will be a member of the Global Settlement Connectivity team responsible for building and enhancing the next generation of Barclays trade processing platform. You will be responsible for design and development of trade processing application enhancements. You will also be responsible for interacting with the users to understand issues/feedback and incorporate the same in developing solutions. You will be required to provide third line support for the trade processing applications.
To be successful as a Senior Java Developer – AVP, you should:
Have Core Java experience in a server-side multi-threaded application. Experience developing using the Spring framework, including experience with Spring Boot
Have experience working Apache Camel, Messaging technologies like MQ, Solace or Kafka and Caching technologies like Apache Ignite or Coherence. Experience working with SQL and NoSQL based database technologies
Have good understanding of microservices architecture, software design patterns and enterprise integration patterns. Solid understanding of Test Driven and Continuous integration way of software development process
Have good understanding of cloud technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Gitlab or Jenkins
Have experience managing / working with offshore development teams. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
Other highly valued skills include:
Knowledge of microservices orchestration frameworks like Camunda
Knowledge of Elastic stack
Knowledge of TeamCity/Jenkins build tools
Experience designing applications based on microservices architecture
Knowledge of trade processing and experience working with settlement systems like GLOSS, BPS and/or IMPACT

This role is located in Whippany, New Jersey.
