As a Barclays Senior Software Developer, you will have the chance to participate in building and delivering key data architecture components that will be scaled across the Wholesale On boarding, GFCO and CRM group.
To be successful as a Senior Software Developer, you should have experience with:
- Designing and innovating products using the newest technologies and best practices
- Providing an intelligence-led approach to solve analytic use cases
- Developing intuitive user interfaces for reporting applications
- Optimizing systems and applications performance
- Building and developing scalable platforms and applications
- Working with business areas to understand and meet their needs
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Experience in one of the following C#, Java, Scala, or Python
- Experience with Big data and AWS
- Experience with developing applications for financial use case and analytics
- Knowledge of controls and compliance frameworks
- Experience with solving highly detailed problems such as building data lakes, analytics frameworks, Functional programming

Minimum Salary: $170,000
Maximum Salary: $230,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
