Technical Lead, AVP

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Technical Lead, AVP in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

1. Lead technical development and delivery of IT solutions in Financial Crime Compliance.
2. Implement Quantexa based solutions for Investment Banking Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring.
3. Responsible for maintenance and support of a few other homegrown applications built using Java, J2EE and Elastic Search technologies.
4. Work with the Delivery Manager, Project Manager and other leads in the team to create project plans, execute these plans and ensure timely delivery.
5. Collaborate with business users to understand business requirements and provide required support during user acceptance testing.
6. Interact with production support teams and vendor partners such as Quantexa to build relationships and understand the team's technical domain.
7. May telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr:  $182,000 per year
Salary / Rate Maximum/yr:  $230,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
