Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

•    Your role will be to work closely with Test Engineering Lead to execute End-to-End Test Automation including Non-Functional aspects in close co-ordination with the Corporate Resilience Programme team and stakeholders across Business/Product, Technology and Operations to identify, scope, quantify, plan and control all Automation Test activities associated with the Vulnerability Remediation programme 

•    You will work in partnership with Business/Product/Engineering Lead/Test Lead to refine the ‘Intolerable Harm’ user cases/requirements and execute related Test Strategy. 

•    You will be required to contribute to Test Strategy, Test Plan and Requirements analysis to support key decisioning where multiple options exist, and you will be expected to target and Drive these discussions/presentations with appropriate, often senior stakeholders across the Bank

•    Actively contribute and champion the Test Engineering both Functional and Non-Functional aspect of the Test Engineering delivery process. 

•    Work collaboratively with other Project Managers and stakeholders across Corporate Bank and BUK to deliver programme outcomes and deliverables.

What will you be doing?

•    Lead and deliver as E2E lead automation projects with minimum supervision or own a Module in Mid / Large automation project with minimum supervision.

•    Must Understand Corporate Landscape for Europe and US Countries and help team with functional areas especially FX, Payments, Accounting and Statements.

•    Implement and maintain robust governance of Test scope, coverage and results using automation, to meet audit and external assurance requirements

•    Apply processes, methods, knowledge, skills and experience to manage risk and ensure project outcomes are delivered in line with expectations.  
•    Taking responsibility for successful Test Automation delivery in line with the relevant Policies and Standards by keeping a focus on outcomes; defining, monitoring and regularly reviewing the overall Test Automation Schedule; ensuring benefits and outcomes are captured and validated throughout the Test Lifecycle. 
•    Being responsible for Test governance and oversight –  provide the Automation framework for implementation, working with the Test Engineering Lead and Programme Director (where relevant) to establish/support a governance forum that is fit for purpose and facilitate the continuous review and approval of key delivery outcomes  
•    Providing and regularly reviewing an honest, transparent assessment of the project status and RAID (risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies) of the initiative, escalating via appropriate governance 
•    Acting in partnership with the Test Engineering Lead and Engineering Lead (where relevant), using their experience and insight to help engage senior leaders, maintain a focus on delivering outcomes, remove blockers and resolve risks and issues and deploy appropriate governance and oversight of Test delivery (including the Project and/or Programme Forum) 
•    Determining, monitoring and managing to workforce and financial requirements, liaising with product and service delivery on resource requirements; supplier and vendor management; ensuring ongoing costs and capitalisation meet MTP and budget requirements 
•    Work with stakeholders across impacted businesses to lead the Test delivery of business readiness activities
•    Creating an environment of effective delivery by empowering the Test delivery team, leveraging their knowledge and expertise, learning lessons from past delivery, and by allocating work across the team in a way that makes the most of their skills while maintaining a focus on outcomes. 
•    Run/attend weekly working group and weekly delivery against plan meetings

•    Maintain detailed Test plan for Automation, managing updates and delivery forum management

•    Facilitate or Present Test view in meetings/conversations between applications teams, GTIS (Infrastructure team) , EaaS (Environment as a Service team) and CTO (Chief Technology Office).

•    Accountable for Automation of key E2E business scenarios and for delivering scripts according to project timelines in line with the Automation Teams quality standards.

•    Responsible for creating Stubs to support end to end testing activities in Payments CIO.  Execution of the existing ST and SIT regression packs and consolidated feedback to the Test Engineering lead on a regular basis.

•    Create/maintain interlock status updates and manage stakeholders

•    Own delivery and sign off of the Test Strategy, Test Plan, Approach and ensure the periodical updates are provided such as DSR, WSR, etc.

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Consistent record/experience of successfully delivering large scale projects 
•    Experience of analysing project documentation to extract requirements, system functions and other features to be tested 
•    Good working knowledge of Java, Selenium and Non-Functional Test aspects including Performance Testing.
•    Exposure to middleware automation and expertise in Unix/Linux as well as Databases. 
•    Ability to master and navigate new subject domains quickly
•    Experience with various messaging formats (XML, SWIFT)
•    Experience of using test management tools (e.g. Jira, Agile Central) to manage testing activity and to provide testing metrics
•    Exposure to SOA (service orientated architecture) testing using various transport protocols (HTTP, web services JMS, IBM MQ)
•    Exceptional analytical skills
•    Experience of working with business stakeholders at  all levels of the organisation
•    Strong communication skills across all levels
•    Confirmed ability and integrity around influencing and managing senior delivery partners
•    Relevant Test Management qualifications, e.g. Lean/Agile
•    Knowledge of Payments Systems
•    Good SQL skills

•    Industry standard Test Management qualification, nice to have but not essential
•    Knowledge of Payments Channels.
•    Knowledge of Payments Systems.
•    Understanding of E2E corporate payments processing.
•    Practicing level of Barclays Payments operational landscape and expert ability to drive commercial success and innovate for the future.
